Men love to tell their wives that God says to submit to their husbands. This is absolutely true and we'll discuss why in a moment. But they ALWAYS gloss over the mandate that God gives them. It says, husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church and laid down his LIFE for it (Eph 5:24). It goes on further to say that men should love their wives as they love their own bodies, and to love his wife even as he loves himself (v28). So yes, while God tells us ladies to submit He also tells husbands that their responsibility to their wives is to literally exchange their life for hers if necessary and to love her the exact same way that you love yourself for, no man has EVER yet hated his own flesh (v29). As I have been looking at all of the events of this weekend I know that the heart of God is grieved. When Jesus was asked which was the most important commandment he said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list. Even if no one else anywhere ever tells you this, I am here to deliver God's message to you that... YOU ARE LOVED! I have become overwhelmed by the number of hate crimes that have be occuring since this election and God has been moving within me to act. I'm not a speaker but I am a writer and through my written words God has always helped me to articulate what He wants me to know about who He is. And I learned this particular truth many years ago... God said and continues to say, no matter what you are, no matter who you are, no matter what you have done, no matter where you have been, no matter where you are right now, no matter what people may say about you,  God loves you . God is love and He can be nothing else. Don't let people tell you that you have to do x,y, and z to gain or be worthy of God's love when the Bible says the exact opposite. In God's economy Love is Action Many of us know the 1 Corinthians 13 which has been dubbed the "Love Chapter" of the Bible. It has always bothered me that people say they fall in love with people because to me this means that just as fast as it can happen it can end. And if that is true that means that God can fall in and out of love with us at any given moment. And if that is true how can God be love personified if love is so wishy washy? That doesn't fit with who God says He is. But, when people talk about love its like this mystical thing that just comes upon you. But to God and in His Word it is much more than that. It is a conscious, and deliberate action that you can control. I've listed the ways that God says we are to love.
